Halo 4 is 720p Native with Halo Anniversary Engine Totally Reworked
Details are slow in coming about 343 Industries’ upcoming addition to the Halo series, but some new information is trickling out about the technical aspects of the game — one of them being native 720p resolution support.
Halo 4 director Frank O’Connor confirmed that the game would be native 720p on a NeoGAF forum this week. He also talked about the fact that Halo 4′s engine might have started out as the same engine used on the recently released Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition, but it has been drastically reworked or rebuilt from the ground in just about every aspect. So effectively, it’s an engine that hasn’t been used on a Halo game before, apparently.
O’Connor said the studio will be rolling out more information about Halo 4 soon, but until then, hit up Ben Richardson’s write-up of a demo Microsoft recently gave of the game.
