Halo 4 Will Never Be On PC

It isn’t that shocking, considering that Halo is the Xbox brand’s flagship franchise, but in case you were holding out hope for a PC version of Halo 4, don’t: this week, 343 Industries confirmed to Penny Arcade that there will be no PC port.

“Halo 4 was designed specifically for Xbox 360,” Microsoft told Penny Arcade. “[A]nd while we’re always exploring new ways to expand the franchise and share the Halo experience with as many fans as possible, we do not currently have any plans to port Halo 4 to PC.”

Penny Arcade is anti this decision, and we at Game Front have to agree. This is a huge missed opportunity for Microsoft just as the Xbox 360 is entering its final year(ish). Maybe the resurgence of PC gaming is getting more pushback that we thought, and that’s a shame.

Yet another great game I will never play since I can’t stand using console controllers, thanks Microsoft *Thumbs up*.

Remember when Microsoft said they were refocusing on PC Gaming? By having games release alongside their Xbox counterparts? Like, for example, the last Fable (not the Kinect abomination, the OTHER abomination)? And then it was delayed for 4 months or so? Yep. Microsoft gets to keep more of the money when they sell an Xbox than a PC, since the PC is made by other companies; so they could care less about PC gaming no matter it’s popularity they just want to push the Xbox

Just bad business on their part, I mean you could make a bundle to sell it on PC, heck push win 8 if they really wanted to what with that just coming out (like they did with Vista and Halo 2).

Did anyone expect it to come to PC? The last four Halo games(Counting Anniversary) didn’t, so why would this one?

Honestly, if it came to PC, I’d actually be somewhat annoyed, since Halo 3 never did, and I wouldn’t want to play 4 without 3 first.

Someday, I’m gonna have to buy me a 360, or whatever the next Xbox is…someday…maybe…

In other news, Microsoft now hates money.

As the poster above mentioned, it is the norm not to see a PC version of Halo games, so I’m not sure why anyone would be surprised. Even though Microsoft would be getting its cut either way, they really want you to buy an Xbox so you are using other revenue generators like Xbox Live. But I’m not exactly concerned about that since none of the Xbox exclusives appeal to me.
