Happy Birthday, Skyrim!

From the incredible replay value to the HD texture pack to the insane number of quality mods available, Skyrim represents what PC gamers look for in new titles.

Whether you’re a Skyrim first-timer, or you’re going to dust off the ol’ Steam install and take her for another spin, be sure to check out Game Front’s Skyrim Survival Guide. Even the hardcore Dragonborn might find an unknown tip or two within this most epic of posts.

My Skyrim data folder is 37GB. Almost 350 hours played. And on my 7th or 8th character I still only find myself replaying the same content/quests 10% of the time.

I have stubbornly held off playing past Riverwood until I can get a minimal loadout of preferred mods running correctly. Thus far the biggest issue has been getting smaller gameplay mods to work with the major overhauls. A particular annoyance is how some gameplay mods have altered versions of vanilla items included for no good reason, causing unneeded compatibility issues.

I’ll always remember the night the clock stuck midnight and the dragon’s of legend entered the world once more.
