PLEASE NOTE: This game guide is currently in-progress. It will be updated with new content as we work through the game.

Table of Contents

Gringotts

  1. Walk up the path to the right. Pick up the blue orb behind the waterfall (if you really want to earn a new music track!), then head back down and follow Ron and Hermione. Once you reach the door, head down the hallway.
  2. Turn right at the end of the hallway and pick up the blue orb to earn a new challenge. Stand near Ron and press A to take cover behind the rock.
  3. ACHIEVEMENT: With the guards outside the door, press RT to use your wand to take them out and earn the “Casting from Cover” Achievment. Follow Ron and Hermione to the door to the left.
  4. Head down the path and press A to hide behind rocks in order to avoid being spotted by guards. Turn left down the next tunnel and take out the guards. Continue down the tunnel and follow the rail tracks to the outside ledge.
  5. After inspecting the lookout point, turn around and head left. Press A to hide behind a nearby rock when prompted to do so by Ron. Once all three guards get close enough, pop up and take them out.
  6. Once you have made your way through the door, move up the path to the right and press LB to create a Protego shield to deflect the enemy’s attacks. Once you get to a rock take cover, then use your wand to take out the enemy.
  7. Continue to use you shield to protect you as you make your way across the path, taking out all of the guards on the other side. Wait for Ron and Hermione to join you, then head across the bridge leading into the tunnel.
  8. After you get separated, head for the man-made bridge to the left and protect R and H by destroying the guards down below. After the bridge you are on gets destroyed, follow R and H down the path and destroy the rest of the guards on the way.
  9. While Hermione works on opening the door, cover her by turning around and taking out the attacking guards. Once she opens it, turn around and head down into the tunnel.
  10. Once you get to the open area, you will have to fight off more guards. Keep your eyes open because there will be a couple up hiding in the walls of the cave. If you go into the last door on your right, you will find an orb that will unlock a new character for you.
  11. Continue down the path where, yes, you will have to kill more guards (keep in mind that Harry can still use his wand while remaining hidden behind rocks and other forms of cover.
  12. Once you reach the dragon, carefully make your way around the backside of the pillars to avoid getting scorched. When the dragon knocks down the pillar that you are standing in front of, press A to take cover.
  13. ACHIEVEMENT: While remaining in the crouched position, use your wand to shoot at the surrounding flames to earn the “Having a Blast” Achievement.
  14. ACHIEVEMENT: Get around to the last pillar to complete the level and earn the “Don’t Bank on it!” Achievement.

The Streets of Hogsmeade

  1. Head down the path and take cover behind the nearby gate while using your wand to take out the attacking guards.
  2. Once you get through all of the guards, you will need to use Expelliarmus (tap Y) to break the Protego shields of the next group of enemies. After you have done so, take them out with your Stupefy! power.
  3. Allow Hermione to open the gate, then head up the path. After Hermione opens the next gate, quickly head through the opening and take cover behind the carriage. Move up to the gate on the right, then take out the two enemies up in the windows to the left.
  4. ACHIEVEMENT: Head down toward gate in front of that building and take cover behind it. Defeat the attacking enemies that will appear. If you have been using your shield quite a bit, then you earn the “Back To You…” Achievement for killing 10 guards with it.
  5. Next, follow R and H up the stairs to the right and immediately take cover to avoid getting hit by enemy attacks. Take them all out, then continue down the path. Surprise! More enemies. Destroy their shields, then take them out.
  6. Before heading through the opening in the wall, you can tun left down the small pathway to find an orb, which will unlock another hidden character. Follow R and H into the building and upstairs. Turn left outside and take cover behind the wall.
  7. Destroy all of the enemies, then follow R and H toward the gazebo. More enemies will surprise you; when they do, take cover inside of the gazebo because this group will try and flank you.
  8. Follow R and H into the next building once all enemies have been destroyed. Continue to follow them back outside and onto the designated gate up ahead. Naturally, you will have to turn around and fight off more enemies once you reach it.
  9. Before heading through the gate, if you go up just a bit further you will find an orb on the right that will give you a new music track. After you head through the gate, turn right and pick up the orb that will earn you a new challenge, then take cover and fight off the Death Eaters.
  10. ACHIEVEMENT: Join R and H inside the Market Hall, then turn around and kill the larger group of the Death Eaters to complete the level and earn the “The Streets of Hogsmeade” Achievement.

A Problem of Security

  1. Duel time! In order to defeat Amycus and Alecto, keep your finger close to the LB button to break that shield out. Since the room is small, you won’t have much room to maneuver, but keep moving to help avoid their blasts.
  2. The best time to hit them is when they put their own shields up. After they do, quickly break them using Expelliarmus (Y), then fire off a few repeated blasts with your wand. You can also find a couple of orbs (one to the right and one in the back right corner) in the room.
  3. ACHIEVEMENT: If you are able to defeat the brothers without being defeat, you will earn the “Not a Scratch” Achievement.
  4. For the next part of this level, you will have to defeat Professor Snape as Minerva. Like the brothers, keep your shield handy and also use your new Expulso spell to inflict a bit of damage on Snape.
  5. ACHIEVEMENT: Defeat Snape to complete the level and earn the “Snape Sacked” Achievement.

The Basilisk Fang

  1. Head with Ron through the tunnel to go and find the Basilisk Fang. Turn left to grab the orb to unlock a new character, then continue on with Ron. Don’t move too far into the dark, otherwise you will lose your source of light.
  2. After the short cutscene where Ron falls, use Expulso to kill the attacking spiders. Head through the tunnel, but make sure to occasionally check behind you for attacking spiders.
  3. Once Ron leads you to the door, turn around and protect him by killing the spiders. Follow Ron through the next tunnel. Pick up the blue orb to the right to find a new music track! You will also find a green orb to the left before exiting out of the tunnel.
  4. As soon as you walk out, use Expulso to kill the large group of spiders. Once you Ron leads you to another door, you’ll have to defend him again by killing…yes, more spiders!
  5. Head through another tunnel maze (pick up blue orb on the right for a new challenge) and follow Ron. You’ll have to kill off more spiders as he opens another door, then when you get inside, turn around and kill the stragglers.
  6. ACHIEVEMENT: Thankfully, the end of this short maze will lead you to the Chamber of Secrets. Following the cutscene, use the left analog stick to dodge falling debris as you sprint back down the path to complete the level and earn the “Pulling Teeth” Achievement.

A Job to Do

  1. Pick up the green orb on the other side of the fountain, then head through the hole in the wall to the left. Move down the path, using the large rocks as cover along the way.
  2. Once you get under the bridge, press A to plant the first charge. While heading down the path to the right, follow the on-screen instructions by double tapping Y to unleash Confringo against your enemies.
  3. Take out the rest of the enemies before heading down the winding path. Once you get under the bridge, plant the next charge. Move behind the rock to the left and take out the enemies across the valley.
  4. Turn right, clear the area of enemies, then plant the next charge on the bridge. Continue on to the right and take out the next group of enemies. Follow the path around to the left.
  5. Once you get down to ground level, you’ll notice that there will be several blasts from certain enemies that will still cause damage to you even if you are hidden behind cover. Don’t stay in one place too long as you take out the enemies in this area.
  6. After you make your way up the slope, plant the next charge once you reach the other side of the bridge. Just like on the other side, defeat all enemies while making your way up the path, then plant the next charge.
  7. Following the cutscene, the game will go into sniper mode. From the character’s position up on the bridge, look around and double tap X to use Petrificus Totalus to take out any enemies you see roaming around down below.
  8. Unfortunately, following the cutscene you will have to do the same tedious form of “sniping” in two more areas. Have fun!
  9. ACHIEVEMENT: If you mix in a lot of Confringo attacks, and defeat 100 enemy wizards with that attack, you will earn the “Confringo!” Achievement.
  10. Once you finish the “sniping” part, take out the enemy wizards that will join you on the bridge. Take them all out and get to the other side.
  11. ACHIEVEMENT: Following the cutscene, you will have to out run Scabior while the bridge is going down. If you simply try to run, you will die every time. As you run, use rapid fire Expulso to keep Scabior off your back and you will complete the level and earn the “Burning Bridges” Achievement.

A Giant Problem

  1. In this short level, your only objective is to defeat two Giants and a handful of Death Eaters. There are no secrets for success here: just a various assortment of rapid fire spells to take out all enemies.
  2. ACHIEVEMENT: Survive and earn the “The Bigger They Are…” Achievement.

The Lost Diadem

  1. If you turn around and head to the back right corner of the room you’ll find a blue orb to earn a new music track. Follow Ron and Hermione up and over the slope. Take cover and kill the Death Eaters to the right.
  2. Follow R and H to the next area where Hermione will create a pathway for you. Run to the lighted fixture in the middle of the area and take cover behind it. Cast spells in the direction of the blasts that are coming towards you to take down the wall of objects.
  3. Grab the green orb to the left to unlock a new character, then follow R and H to the next area. Take cover behind a nearby object before taking out the attacking enemies.
  4. After Hermione reveals another path, pick up the blue orb to the right to unlock a hidden challenge. Take cover behind the bookcase, then cast spells in the direction on the enemy fire.
  5. After Hermione finds another path for you, you will have to fight off a small group of enemy wizards. Take care of them, then have Hermione find one more path for you.
  6. ACHIEVEMENT: Following the cutscene, you will have to run and cast spells up in the direction of the falling objects to avoid getting hit by them. Easy stuff. Complete the level and earn the “Lost and Found” Achievement.

The Battle of Hogwarts

  1. Head down the bridge and turn left through the archway. After the roof caves in, follow the on-screen instructions by holding RB and using the left analog stick to Apparate (teleport) in front of the nearby cover.
  2. From that spot behind the cover, use your spells to take out the attacking wizards. Make your way down the hall and kill all enemy wizards. Once you make it to the end, turn left to the outside ledge.
  3. This part will be tricky because there will be limited cover with attacks coming at you from nearly every angle. Take care of the wizards in front of you first, followed by the ones up on the roof to the left.
  4. Take cover behind the nearby wall and take out the wizards across the way next. Remember that if you are ever overwhelmed, you can Apparate to throw off your enemies.
  5. Move around to the left and kill the enemy wizards through the hole in the floor below before continuing around the pathway. Kill the attacking wizards, then take cover behind the wall and take out the enemy wizards on the other side of the path.
  6. Once you get to the door, it will be your job to defend Hermione from Death Eaters while she unlocks it. There will be some down the path, a few perched high up on the far wall and another group that will burst through the wall near the door.
  7. After Hermione opens the door, head inside and turn left down the steps. Before you turn left through the archway, hug the left wall and take out the enemy wizards in the next room before heading through.
  8. Head down the hallway, then turn right through the archway where more enemy wizards will be waiting for you. Once you clear the room (make sure you get the guys up on the catwalk as well), turn right and head for the light in front of the door.
  9. Once again, you’ll have to defend Hermione while she unlocks this door. Use the nearby wall as cover. Once she gets it open, head on through. Following the cutscene, follow R and H up the flights of stairs.
  10. After you get separated, continue straight down the stairs and take out the attacking enemy wizards. Turn left and take out the enemy wizards on the opposite staircase, as well as the ones on the stairs down to the left.
  11. After the staircase above you collapses, head back up the stairs to the left, take out more wizards on the opposite staircase, then take out more down the center set of stairs.
  12. After you pick up the green orb to unlock a new character, turn right. Turn right again to pick up the blue orb, then continue straight down both sets of stairs. Continue down to the bottom to meet up with R and H, but turn around to take out the attacking wizards who will be following you.
  13. At the bottom, take out the enemy wizards hidden behind the objects under the last staircase. Continue forward and head up the staircase to the right, then turn right through the doorway.
  14. Following the cutscene, you will have to defeat Fenrir and his minions as Hermione. No secrets here: Just get behind some cover and have some good old-fashion button mashing.
  15. ACHIEVEMENT: Now back as Potter, head down the stairs and take out the Death Eaters along the way to beat the level and earn the “Hogwarts Burning” Achievement.

Surrender

  1. Head through the wreckage of Hogwarts to make your way to the Forbidden Forest. As you make your way across the bridge you’ll have to go through plenty of Death Eaters with very little cover. Use all of the spells you have learned thus far to defeat them.
  2. And just when you finally make it across the bridge…yes, you will have to kill more of them. Continue to take out Death Eaters along the way as you make your way to the forest.
  3. ACHIEVEMENT: Following the cutscene, walk through the path in the Forbidden Forest with the creepy ghosts to find…Voldemort!!! You will earn the “Familiar Faces” Achievement.

A Turn of Events

  1. The time has come! Voldemort’s greatest strength is his mobility. He moves around like crazy, so keep your finger close to LB to constantly be whipping out the Protego Shield.
  2. In between blocking his attacks, mix in rapid fire attacks of Petrificus Totalus and Expulso to inflict the most damage against him. Once you get his health all the way down, there will be another one of those running sequences where you will have to flee Voldemort.
  3. As you are running through the building, look and aim for any objects that are highlighted in blue and fire at them to slow down Voldemort’s pursuit.
  4. ACHIEVEMENT: After you outrun Voldemort, you will earn the “Best Friend” Achievement and play as Ron.
  5. ACHIEVEMENT: As Ron, head up the stairs with Hermione and take out the attacking Death Eaters. Clear then entire room as you make your way up to the very top of the stairs and earn the “Change of Plans” Achievement.

Not My Daughter

  1. ACHIEVEMENT: Following the cutscene, you’ll earn the “Defiant Daughter” Achievement by playing as Ginny. In this familiar setting, you simply have to take out a whole host of evil wizards.
  2. Following the brief cutscene, pick up the nearby blue orb, then it’s back to more button mashing. When the fireballs get shot in your direction, turn around and head for the door.
  3. ACHIEVEMENT: Following the cutscene, you’ll earn the “Stay Away from Her” Achievement for playing as Molly. Like Voldemort, Bellatrix is fast. Use Expulso before she Apparates.
  4. ACHIEVEMENT: Other than her mobility, she’s basically like every other boss. Take her out and earn the “Motherly Love” Achievement.

Voldemort’s Last Stand

  1. In this rematch with Voldemort he will be up to his usual tricks, which is basically Apparating a bunch. Because of this, this final battle is painfully predictable: Protego shield followed by Expulso.
  2. ACHIEVEMENT:Once you take away all of his health, there will be a brief cutscene. Following the cutscene, use the left analog stick to keep the spell beam focused on Voldemort. Complete this and earn the “It All Comes Down to This” Achievement and beat the game.

I just finished Beginner level of the game. It was really good, but at “The Giant Problem”, I had to redo the last part eight times because I didn’t know you had to keep pressing Protego. Other than that, it was awesome.
