Hauppage Rolls Out New HD Game Recorder
Here at Game Front, we spend a lot of time recording gameplay for our extensive walkthrough network and original programming like The Minecraft Show. I don’t pretend to know a lot about the devices that make that happen — after all, I’m a writer guy, and people like us avoid the very technical and anything related to math. But the video crew seems like they’re into Hauppage’s new HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition, at least on paper (they intend to review it).
The PVR 2 is built specifically for recording off Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and retails for $169. According to Hauppage’s press release, it “features high definition HDMI and Component video recording at up to 1080p30, plus HDMI ‘no delay pass-through’ so gamers can record their game play while playing the game on a TV monitor.”
Also cool about the PVR 2 — it’s basically optimized for YouTube, which means you can upload your videos with a single click straight to your channel. It also has a pro audio codec included that lets you encode video in Blu-Ray quality format.
There’s more information available on Hauppage’s website here. We’ll post our review before too long, and you can get our team’s thoughts on the PVR 2, as well.
