Haze: PC and Xbox 360 Plans Cancelled

hazescreen_thumb.jpg

Haze was initially scheduled for release on the PS3 as a temporary exclusive, that would be followed with PC and Xbox 360 releases of the game in the future. Ubisoft has officially confirmed that the title will be PS3 exclusive and not coming to the Xbox 360 or PC platforms. This is great news for Sony, considering they still have yet to gain a single specific advantage over Microsoft or Nintendo in this generation. Haze will be a huge bonus to their library of games.

HAZE will be a huge bonus? Doesn’t the game have to be good before it is a huge bonus. Maybe somebody at Ubi decided it wasn’t good enough to make for the other platforms. If the game is great why would you stop development for the PC? There are over a billion PC’s in the world compared to a couple million PS3′s.

Considering he was refering to PC, not sure where you get bitter 360 thing from.

Personally, markets saturated with FPS’s anyway, so losing this ones no big deal.
    I’ll still sleep soundly tonight

“Considering he was refering to PC, not sure where you get bitter 360 thing from.”

    Because he’s a 360 owner

Don’t you think the whole ‘Yeah, well I didn’t want it anyway’ thing is a bit pathetic?

I’d just ask where the number of PCs (billions) has anything to do with anything exactly (number of pc’s includes work stations in office buildings, computer labs, vets offices etc).

I would however agree that i am seeing alot of FPS, especially ones harping on the co-op play, which is good and all (the missus and i love it heh)but just abounding lately. I am still interested in this game though, seems interesting at least.

the reason they have made it a PS3 exclusive is a business decision.. has nothing to do how good the game is. And believe me, Haze is awesome.

I am sure Sony had to make some special deals to keep this thing an exclusive.

Yeah, that couldn’t have been a fun check to write for Sony.

I’m getting a little tired of the ‘serious’ shooters anyway. Bring on Ratchet & Clank!

I see Norbit’s ‘debating’ skills have really improved.

Sony really needs this after Lair took a dive. I don’t even have a PS3 and was looking forward to Lair.

You simply cannot build a gaming cosole that is capible of doing what the 360 and PS3 can do for as little money as they cost.

For example look at Oblivion. Both the 360 and PS3 play that game at 30fps.

The cheapest PC graphics card capible of doing that is the 8800gts which would cost you a minimum of $250.

Then of course you need a decent CPU, RAM, PSU, Motherboard, Case, DVD drive, cables, Operating system and Hard Drive.

For example I just knocked up a cheap gaming rig at Overclockers.co.uk:

Akasa AK-ZEN-01-BK Zen Black Case – No PSU £31.71
    Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition inc. SP2 – OEM – 1Pk (N09-01528) £56.39
    Abit AW9D-MAX Intel 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £70.49
NEC AD7170S Serial ATA 18×18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) – OEM £18.79
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 “LGA775 Conroe” 2.33GHz (1333FSB) – Retail £108.09
    OcUK Value 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 184pin DDR Memory Dual Channel Kit £64.61
    OcUK GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) – Retail £176.24
    Hitachi Deskstar 7K160 160GB SATA-II 8MB Cache – OEM (0A32728) £30.54
    Antec EarthWatts 380W PSU £30.54
    + cables

    Total : £600.26 ($1,231.38)

Well, I just got my 360 back from repair (replacement) and I have this 2 Grand+ gaming PC…..and was looking forward to this Crysis/Halo coagulation of a game!

You gotta admit tho…it definitely is a Crysis knockoff with the whole “nectar enhancement” crap….so gay.

PS3 or 360-what’s the difference? Both systems got y’all by the balls! They have NO good games and yet they have YOU arguing over their systems! Five hour games with gorgeous graphics! Oooh!! Grow up! Gaming Sucks now. Halo is not what a GOOD game is. Hype doesn’t make a good game. Crysis is cool, but EA can kiss mine for trying to make me but one $500.00 graphics card just to play one game! And it’s SHORT! Gears Of War….SHORT! Hevenly Sword….SHORT! How did a game like Perfect Dark on N64 come out in 2000 and has way more to do in it than Halo or Halo 2 (or any other FPS) which came out later? Wake up people! Stop being sheep to this industry and demand what YOU want!!

Im a Gamer for more than 20 years and honestly, FPS without a mouse is no FPS.

If PS3, XBox or whatever had a mouse or a controller like Wii, this would be a serious gaming platform… problem: Wii is very poor in performance, graphics and game production.

Playing Haze in a PS3 should be as good as playing Command & Conquer in a PS3: pretty miserable.

seriously wtf, the reason for multiplatform games is so that everyone can enjoy the experience, nobody in their right mind will go out and spend 400 to 500 bucks to play a 60 dollar game. People prefer different consoles and games should be made for every console. Don’t you want to make more money?

Ceaseless is right about what we should demand. But he is right about the people gotten by the balls too. I had a 360 for six months and the best game on it was DOA4. The very good second place was for Burnout Revenge. Both of these had absolutely no plotted single player hours. All the games that had were disappointing. Halo 3? Not Halo 1. Saints Row? Not GTA. GOW? Where’s the content? Every other game? SUCKED.

And for dfk (i mean no offense): you ask “Don’t you want to make more money?”. The publisher makes the money, yes. But even more when Sony is willing to pay HUGE amounts for exclusive rights. This also gives Sony an enhancement in PS3 sales as many people WILL buy the console at least partly because of this game. And the publisher still gets a fairly good amount of cash flow when the PC and 360 versions finally arrive. If however the exclusive rights continue “until forever” i’m confident that the paycheck given by Sony is not the smallest seen in history.

That being said.. why on earth am i writing this? Well whatever, have at thee!

Exactly, I believe these “Exclusive” releases are simply utilized for marketing for a particular platform. The act of doing this would actually decrease sales.

This has been happening a lot lately:
    Dead Rising
    Dark Sector
    Star Wars- The Force unleashed
    Gears of War 2

in past games, and many games to come possibly..
