Heavy Gear Assault Kickstarter Campaign Halted

Announced earlier this year, the Kickstarter campaign for Heavy Gear Assault has been canceled after a poor reception on the platform.

Despite the cancellation of its Kickstarter fund, the game continues to be in development at StompyBot and MekTek Studios. The latter studio is best known for its work on MechWarrior 4. Down but not out, the studio has pledged to continue development and will accept donations and funding directly through its own website instead of Kickstarter.

At the time of its cancellation, the project received only a fraction of its intended $800,000 goal, at $44,981.

“Thank you for your dedicated support. We appreciate and highly value everyone’s opinions here which is why we have decided to cancel this KS campaign and continue crowd funding on heavygear.com,” reads an official update on the project’s Kickstarter page. We believe very strongly in resurrecting the Heavy Gear franchise and giving the fans what they want.

“We are currently evaluating other strategies to raise awareness regarding Heavy Gear and looking at multiple means to get the Heavy Gear name out there. Thank you for your support everyone and stay tuned.”

First I have heard of this game project. Long time fan of the work MekTek has done in the past with MW4. Also of the Heavy Gear games from years ago.
