Thanks to all who participated!

If you’ve got any sort of a team-based robbery bent, you’ve got to be playing Payday 2. Overkill’s 4-man co-op shooter lets you rob banks with your friends, and that’s just as much fun as it sounds like it would be. In our Game Front review, our Mike Sharkey said, “Yep, Payday is no longer a simple heist, it’s a full-time career in crime, and I’ve enjoyed strolling through the newly added safe house to grin over my growing pile of cash, assorted weapons, and ghoulish masks.”

Thanks to the folks at Overkill Software, we’ve got 10 copies of Payday 2 to hand out to our readers. No, you don’t have to pull off a heist to get your hands on this loot. All you have to do is follow the directions below.

  • Drop a comment below and tell what your favorite heist movie is, and why. Don’t worry, lots of us will pick the same movies.
  • Leave a valid email in the email field when you post your comment.
  • Post your comment before 11:59 PM PST, Thursday, Oct. 24.

We’ll pick 10 winners at random and send them Steam keys for Payday 2!

So what are you waiting for? Get your comment in, and get your mask ready!

There you go Gamefront

It’s gotta be Inception or Snatch! Ones got the depth that you feel like you learn a little bit new about the plot each time, the others a tongue in cheek gangster film! What’s not to love!

jason

On October 21, 2013 at 1:58 pm

Sure there is better but l’ll pick “The Town.”

Hang on, lads. I’ve got a great idea.

Only one heist movie worth mentioning, the Italian Job! The original version obviously. With Michael Caine, Benny Hill, Mini Coppers a classic 60′s script with witty memorable one liners and crazy chase scenes. What is not to love?

Guess I prefer the lighter side to heist movies as opposed the the gritty violent ones.

Heist movie?

Mine isn’t a traditional Heist movie but a good portion of the film is the main character breaking into some place trying to steal something.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Alex

Because the movie shows you a compelling story and then “SPOLIERS” they get backstabbed by there friend and then they are getting payback by heisting his money ffrom the bad guy. Great movie.

My favorite heist movie is “Heat” because Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro are 2 of my favorite actors. And Heat is just one of those classic movies that everyone love.

Thanks for your time and opportunity Gamefront.

Definitely the greatest Heist movie I saw is HEAT. The sound of those guns blazing in the city streets… so awesome.

On October 21, 2013 at 2:05 pm

My fav one is Heat, that’s what mostly Payday devs wanted to do. Awesome =)

Chris

On October 21, 2013 at 2:06 pm

Gotta go with “Inception”. It’s not a classic heist movie, but it managed to inject fresh new ideas into a tried and true formula.

Heat, obviously. Why bother writing anything else ;)

TheOneS2K

On October 21, 2013 at 2:16 pm

This might not be much of a heist movie but definitely The Dark Knight, the whole entire scene with
Joker robbing the bank was awesome especially the bus hitting the robber

HEAT!!! By far the best

Countless video games copy it (GTA 4, GTA 5, even payday!)

The sound in the city is amazing when the hits the fan really incredible.

It has good back story behind the good guy and bad guy that feels real to the point that everyday people encounter those same issues. I hate these other movies with the stereotypical back story for every character to make you feel sorry for them.

All star cast!

Michael Mann directs some of the best movies, including the 2nd heist movie on my list Public Enemies.

For being an older movie when you see it on bluray you honestly cant tell at all.

Italian Job. If I remember the game on playstation wasn’t all that bad either.

Matt

On October 21, 2013 at 3:20 pm

I’m partial to Inside Man, because of it’s twisting of the typical heist movie concept. Plus, Denzel Washington.

Point Break

The Ex-Presidents and Reservoir Dogs are worth a mention… but i choose Heat..

I’d have to say ‘The Italian Job’, although ‘Oceans 11′ and ‘Kelleys Heroes’ are close behind.

On October 21, 2013 at 10:24 pm

Wild things all the way. Its not your prototypical heist movie but they steal money, and the threesome near the end is any males favorite scene.

Denise Richards nude come on. Plus it has a ton of twists that you probably won’t see coming.

DENISE RICHARDS…charlie sheen should be in jail for giving that up.

Shawshank Redemption.
Best movie of all time.

id say the best i can recall is Inception,

the notion of digging on someone’s thoughts to pull out the information you need and going about it in such an elaborate way is the most impressive and exciting i ever felt from a heist movie

Bandits (2001)

Has to be the Italian Job, either version really, as the 2003 one introduced me to the 1969 version. ’03 is got all you need in a bit more action oriented flick, while the ’69 one has great comedic qualities, both together is an excellent package.

I mean come on, you were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off.

A Fish Called Wanda, because I prefer comedies over drama or thrillers. It also stars John Cleese (who also helped write it) and is the only heist movie I can think of with ‘fish’ in the title.

Hey Gamefront,

Well ‘Heist Movie’? I have a favourite heist ‘Film’ :) – ‘Judas Priest – Breaking the Law’

Don’t know if you consider it a movie – but it is a short film, and is by far the best.

You are immediately thrown in into the depths of vivid image, revealing a grandiose park with people feeding birds – and it’s not really relevant at all to the rest of the film. It goes on to show one of the young band members blissfully stroking his hair, in the manner equivalent to that of William Shatner. The Heist is perfect, the band members assaulting the bank with balls of steel, taking down the security guards one after the other and patriants alike using the power of music that their ear drums cannot resist! Breaking the law, breakin the law.

Moving forward with prestigious courage and vitality, they open the bank vault, which apparently can be open just by pulling it open, hell this should be a Payday 2 DLC yeah? They steal the crown jewel, a Vinyl Record of ‘Judas Priest – Breaking the Law’, the song they are singing, all the while with the security guard sitting around watching them – and then, this guard just gets a guitar out and starts playing it! What!?!? Why?? If you ask me, I would say this guard is just about as arrogant as the developers of the game Homefront.

There you go, I believe with intuity, realism and not even blissful ignorance, I have successfully explained to you why this must be the greatest Heist of all time. I mean how can you beat a bunch of guys with guitars?

On October 23, 2013 at 4:20 pm

Panic Room! It totally has the payday vibe. Gritty heist members, betrayal and of course the panic room mission where you cut said panic room out with saws, totally rad! Best of luck to everyone.

The italian job is one of the best heist films i’ve seen because the main characters steal for a living, so the good guys are bad guys, and the bad guys are REALLY bad guys.
