Help Make The Minecraft Documentary Happen

We all know how shocking, and delightful the enormous success of Minecraft has been. 2 Player Productions are working on a project they’re calling Minecraft: The Story of Mojang, about Marcus Persson, the lovable Swede who create the worldwide sensation single-handedly. They initially set out to create a 20 minute short but as they were making the damn thing, Minecraft blew up like the world trade1 and they realized they were watching gaming history happen. Now they want to turn it into a feature length film, a goal we support, and you should too.

They’re soliciting donations via Kickstarter. Those willing to pony up their own money to help get this thing made can expect some nice goodies, for instance:

Donate $15: Get the film’s soundtrack.

Donate $100: Get a custom poster, an autographed copy of the DVD, a physical copy of the CD2, the ‘creeper’ toy and your name in the credits.

And so on. There’s gifts for donations ranging from 1 Dollar to 10 grand, in case you’re feeling rich. Meanwhile, here’s the first 6 minutes:

The whole 20 can be seen over at Game Trailers. Like what you see? Then consider kicking some $$$ in.

1) Biggie reference, not a 9/11 reference.
2) A physical CD?!? Is this 1995? Zounds!
