Here’s What a 5MB Hard Drive Looked Like in 1956 (PIC)

Earlier today, we were discussing Bioshock: Infinite cosplay, and this image seemed appropriate when discussing Irrational’s politically charged franchise that’s largely about science gone awry in days gone by. Here we have an image from 1956 showing off IBM’s 305 RAMAC, the “world’s first super computer” with a hard drive capable of storing a whopping 5MB of data. Just for another hilarious base of comparison, that’s less than five of these:

@ 12GB required HD storage for Crysis, I’ll take 2,500 of the 1956 just to be on the safe side please.
