Heroes of Newerth Now Free-to-Play

In a completely unorthodox and unexpected move, Heroes of Newerth has moved to a free-to-play business model — something that no one is doing.

In all seriousness, the fact that League of Legends, the biggest name in the MOBA genre, is free-to-play and has over 15 million registered players was a strong indication that Heroes of Newerth would one day have to bow to the increasingly popular F2P model. When your biggest competition is giving itself away from free, your choice is either match their price or be eclipsed.

What gamers shouldn’t view this as is a forfeiture — Heroes of Newerth is not going free-to-play because it’s giving up. Rest assured that this business decision will see rapid player growth now that the initial investment barrier has been shattered.

Game sucks, SO glad I didnt pay 20$ for it. I like LoL so much better.
