Samwise Didier Talks Heroes Of The Storm, Hair Metal (Interview)
Many of the skins I saw in the demo today had a sense of humor like Roller Derby Nova. Is that a big focus for you?
The obvious choice is to go sexy. Picture a Halloween costume: the cat, the nurse, the devil girl. I really wanted to do something fun first. I’m sure that we’ll do skins like that, but Roller Derby is cool. And is sexy, but not overtly sexy. So I want to make sure that when we do these skins that we hit the things that people want but we also do the things we want to do, the fun.
When you see Lich King Arthas from World of Warcraft, he’s going to be Arthas, but he will have a goofy skin sometime, but we’re going to roll with him having some serious ones first. If the hero warrants it, we’ll do it, but I don’t think you’ll be seeing bikini Arthas any time soon.
What other kinds of skins are you creating?
We’re taking elements from our other games and kind of combining them. We have Uther in his judgement armor, so I have him in his medic armor from StarCraft. He’s got a plus sign for healing and a big plus sign for a hammer. And its not goofy, but its not real lore either. It’s just kind of fun.
We have the male version of Diablo and we have an alt skin called Lurkablo. He looks like he’s underwater deep sea kind of angler. What if Diablo and a Murloc had a baby?
We want the original heroes to be as true as possible, but the skins are open season. We can have fun or be as serious as we want.
