IO Interactive has released a screenshot teasing Hitman: Absolution’s new crowd tech, which will support crowds of up to 1200 individuals, each with its own AI. This tease comes in advance of lead physic programmer Kaspar Faurby’s talk at GDC this Wednesday, titled “Crowd Technology in Hitman: Absolution.”

Further, here is the box art that Square Enix revealed, courtesy of VG247:

I wonder if every member of a crowd will have a unique identity, given that’s what was promised of every NPC. Does the term “NPC” encompass random crowd members? Technically, it should, and if it does, that will be one hell of a task.

What do you think of the box art?

Hopefully it is what they say it will be.

The Marti Gras level from blood money had a big crowd, but nearly all of it were “shell” people, who had no physics in their bodies and were basically paper mache.
