There were some rumors going around while back that the upcoming Hitman movie was getting the PG-13 treatment to appeal to studio execs demands. Considering it’s a film about a man who kills people as a way of life, that’s the sort of thing that could sincerely drive the quality of the film down. But fear not, for it has apparently been confirmed that the movie will hit theaters with a solid “R” rating for “Strong bloody violence, language, and some sexuality/nudity.”
It’s nice to know the movie won’t end up sucking because of studio intervention. Now it’ll just suck because of lead actor, Timothy Olyphant — who will always be the douche from The Girl Next Door to me — and the inclusion of a nonsensical, romantic side-story; because it makes so much sense to have a laboratory-bred killing machine falling in love and having random sex while on the run from other killing machines. If the scene in question didn’t involve one Olga Kurylenko (below), I’d be outraged. Instead, I’ll just say that sounds incredibly stupid, and I would love to see it.

“Timothy Olyphant — who will always be the douche from The Girl Next Door to me”
To me he will always be Sheriff Bullock from Deadwood.

BTW it has a 15 certificate in the UK and if you want to know why then here you go (SPOLIER):
“HITMAN is an action thriller about a Hitman being pursued by Interpol and the Russian Military.
The film was classified ’15′ for frequent strong and bloody violence, strong language and breast nudity. BBFC Guidelines state that “violence may be strong but may not dwell on infliction of pain or injury.” The violence in the film is swiftly executed as the Hitman performs his job or defends himself against attackers and does not dwell or focus on the infliction of injuries. Blood spurts onto characters’ faces from bullet impacts, and the film only occasionally and briefly shows a bullet impact to body. It was considered that the film’s action fell within 15 Guidelines.
The film also contains strong language, and breast nudity in a mild sexual context when Nika tries to seduce the Hitman.”

I’m still debating on whether to see it or not. On one hand it’s most likely going to suck because it’s a “game to movie” adaptation, but on the other hand it’s the “Hitman” franchise. Other than that, with the awesome amount of games out by the time “Hitman” is released (and Thanksgiving on the following day), it should be a great week, at least to me anyway.

Good thing they changed it from PG-13. I hate when they do things like this just to appeal to a wider market. They screwed up Die Hard 4 by doing this.(Also Olyphant)
