Homeworld Remastered Collector’s Edition Pre-Orders Open

The Homeworld Remastered Collector’s Edition is now available for pre-order at Amazon.

Gamers hoping to reserve their own copy of the Collector’s Edition can do so for $100. This edition will, in turn, contain an art book containing revised Historical Briefings and a die-cast Angel Moon Homeworld keychain. It will also come with a 13-inch handpainted, LED lit and USB powered statue of the Pride of Hiigara mothership that features prominently in both Homeworld 1 and 2, both of which are featured in the remaster.

The game’s Amazon listing currently states that it will be releasing on December 31st, 2014. That being the case, Gearbox has already confirmed that this is just a placeholder date and that official launch details will be coming “in the future.” Gearbox also urged fans of the classic series to place their Collector’s Edition pre-orders soon as “quantities are extremely limited.” In other words, if you want one, it’s time to jump on the wagon.

Homeworld Remastered, of course, was originally announced back in 2013. Gearbox set itself to the creation of the HD editions of the game following its acquisition of the Homeworld IP during the implosion of publisher THQ.

More than likely it’s a filler price. Just like the date they tend to throw random (typically higher than normal) prices out there for items that have yet received a confirmed price. They do this for the simple reason that they can just give you the refund for the extra amount you paid if the actual price is less than what they have it listed for. Whereas instead of having to charge you more if they have to suddenly raise the price.

Of course I could also be missing something and this be the confirmed price, and in that case then just disregard this comment.

If it is remastered!
it’d better be done by a real master and not some whipper snipper cheapskate.
