How Bad Will Modern Warfare 3 Look on the Wii (Compared to PC)?

Approximately this bad:

Yes, Infinity Ward and Activision announced this week that some brand of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 would be making its way to Nintendo’s Waggletron on Nov. 8, alongside the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. That image comparison up there is Modern Warfare on PC on the left, Modern Warfare: Reflex (the Wii port) on the right.

Activision says the purpose of the launch is to “not leave any community out of the excitement,” according to Eurogamer. Yeah, that sure looks exciting up there.

So obviously things like Robert Bowling’s pledge of 60 frames per second and, I dunno, characters that actually look human might be a stretch for Nintendo’s aging console. But we’ll put it to you, our mostly-PC-loving reader base: just how bad will Modern Warfare 3 look on the Wii? Leave us your comments.

Why does it matter how “bad” it looks on the wii? The wii isn’t about graphics, it’s about gameplay. I don’t play CoD games at all, I just felt I had to respond to this. Are graphics the only thing that matters in a game? I think not.

Okay, do you honestly think the Wii version will have good gameplay? Let’s rephrase: how bad will the gameplay be on the Wii?

Graphics are not everything but it sure can make things more appealing to the eye’s.

For games you need a good level of graphics, sound, design, story, and performance to stand out, if you have bad graphics then the game has to excel in another one of those category’s, if not then its a dull and boring game.

Or you could just be new to games and that can often fill a gap needed to keep people happy.

Iv been playing games since the 90′s, and still play to this day and every day since then, going backwards instead of forewords is always a negative for me even if the game is awesome and fun to play. It’s like a crack addict, I need more and better to please me all the time.

I own a wii but never touch the thing, to me it makes a rather big paper weight.

Nah this is so that when the game doesn’t look as good as Battlefield 3 they can say “Well we had to develop it for the Wii too”! Though we can hope that won’t be the case.

Like I said, I don’t play CoD. I just didn’t much like the way you practically defined the whole game based only on its graphics. -_- No offense intended though.

I expect suicide rates to skyrocket in upon the release of the Wii version screenshots.

Yeah, that bad…..

Black Ops on Wii was an excellent conversion with, other than Dead Ops arcade, everything intact. The gameplay was not quite as solid as keyboard/mouse but much better than dual-stick IMO

You guys do realize that this is PC vs. Wii graphics war right?

PC beats any home console in graphics because its the most customizable

“But we’ll put it to you, our mostly-PC-loving reader base”
It Sounds Like Someone Wrote This To Start A Flamewar.
This Is SO Pathetic And Childish LOL.
I Wonder What What This Gen Of Kids Would Say Picking Up Pac-Man
“Graphics Suck, So That Makes The Game Suck” Im 14 And I Care More About Graphics Then Gameplay
Woah, Theres Alot Of Stuff In This Comment.

You are all narrow minded derps, the community for xbox, ps3 and pc is full of you lot and i much prefer the wii lot. Any one who cares about graphics are so stupid. There is no game that gives better gameplay than mario galaxy 2 on any console so you can all suck out

I played the COD4 wii version, ya graphics arent oohhh ahhh, but the gameplay is kinda interesting compared to a controller

Jeez, everybody coming out in defense of the Wii, huh.

First off, those are both screens from MW1, one on PC, one on Wii. The point isn’t to be “SO Pathetic And Childish LOL” but to point out the vast differences in power in current generation hardware when compared to PCs.

Way to make it personal guys. Obviously graphics aren’t what makes games good. But at the same time, you’re paying virtually the same price for the PC title and the Wii title. And the Wii title looks like churned poop.

Of course, you can continue to come out in defense of the Wii, but the simple fact is it’s substandard in comparison to other hardware. Waggle away, Wii fans, if you’re having so much fun doing it.

On August 17, 2011 at 3:14 pm

They should at least make the game the exact same way they made it for the X Box PS3 and PC

BIGG LIE!!!! i hav mw3 on wii and the graphics look good so dont even assume anything here please

On November 17, 2011 at 4:26 pm

@ Priceless, They can’t make it the same way. The wii’s graphics aren’t meant for HD. Highest cap is 480P. The way is very limited graphics-wise, But the games are fun.

XD lol mw3 on the wii is ok lol at least it’s not Skyrim lol it’s good because of it’s beauty(walking around in a vast fantasy world with pc graphics is very soothing), it would be sullied if it was put on the wii.
