How To Get Killzone: Shadow Fall Pre-order Bonus Soundtrack

Those who bought Killzone: Shadow Fall alongside their PS4s when the system launched in November were promised the game’s soundtrack as a bonus, but the accompanying code didn’t provide it when redeemed, giving only the other promised in-game items. The Shadow Fall soundtrack is quite good, though, and so its absence was very much felt in the Owen household.

But as the calendar turned to a new year, Guerrilla and Sony stealth dropped it on the PlayStation Store with zero notice before or after. But as of today you can obtain it, though its limitations are strict. Here’s how to find it.

1. Go to the PlayStation Store on a PS4. (It does not show up on the browser store or those of the PS3 or PS Vita.)
2. Navigate to the Killzone: Shadow Fall game page — where you would go to purchase a full digital copy.
3. At the bottom left side of the page is a button that reads “other items.” Select it.
4. And there is the link to the soundtrack page, which should allow you to download it for free if you’ve redeem the aforementioned code.

Now, the restrictions. You can only play the soundtrack from a PlayStation 4 system. You can play it on a PS Vita via remote play. You cannot make a playlist with your favorite tracks or remove ones you don’t like — this list is unmodifiable. You can start and stop tracks and skip to whichever one you want to hear, but you cannot fast forward or rewind. The image above is what the soundtrack app looks like, and every option is displayed on that screen.

Yeah, this is basically the bare possible minimum delivery of goods, and there’s little reason to be happy with it now. Alas.
