Humble Bundle Now Allows Gifting of Steam Keys, Thwarts Resellers

Humble Bundle now officially supports the gifting of Steam keys, which was formerly against the Terms of Service.

While most people have given a spare Steam key away to a friend, doing so actually breaks TOS. Before you cry foul, these terms exist to thwart resellers, not gamers. Now, Humble Bundle has provided a means for gamers to still gift spare keys to friends in a way that doesn’t break TOS.

In order to give away a key, you must now use your Steam account to activate the key as a gift, then give your friend a URL that will allow him to redeem the gift. You never see the actual key in the process.

The full process is explained on Humble Bundle’s support page, but basically, gamers can still give away their spare games, but resellers are thwarted. Sure, it won’t eliminate reselling entirely, but it does make it more difficult. Win-win.

The fact that someone would resort to exploiting a charity for personal gain is just sick.

You know their terms of service are actually invalid because you do not agree to anything when you buy a product. there is no pop up to agree at all therefore making it unknown therefore invalid.
haven’t bought the new bundle as have it all maybe they changed that as well
