I Am Alive Hits Steam Today
Ubisoft’s post-apocalyptic climbin’ stuff and murderin’ folks title I Am Alive is now available on PC. It unlocks on Steam today, allowing those who missed downloading it on Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 a chance to check it out.
It’s a version that almost didn’t happen, too. I Am Alive Game Director Stanislas Mettra was dubious about the prospect, speculating that players were complaining about the lack of a PC version despite that they didn’t really intend to play it. He also said some stuff about piracy. So basically, it was the usual song and dance about PC versions, and Mettra said that Ubisoft was looking to see the feasibility of a PC version.
Apparently, the ruling on the field: feasible. So feasible that you can buy I Am Alive for a mere $14.99. Before you rush off to do that, however, you might want to check out our review. I wasn’t a huge fan of I Am Alive when it hit Xbox Live, and that might stay your hand. Then again, if you’ve got $15 to spare, you might just want to buy it anyway to prove Mettra wrong and help keep Ubisoft’s numbers high so it stops playing this “nobody buys our games on PC (even though we keep making them and putting them on PC anyway)” card. Or you could just kickstart something.
Anyway, get I Am Alive on Steam right here. Trailer’s below.
