iBUYPOWER Standardizes USB 3.0 on its Desktops
While USB and it’s 2.0 upgrade took awhile to become standard fare on most commercial desktops, it seems like 3.0 is gaining ground quickly. Earlier today, computer maker iBUYPOWER announced that beginning immediately, USB 3.0 will be standard on all it’s desktop systems. Even units that don’t include an integrated USB 3 controller will receive free upgrades to support the faster interface.
USB 3.0 improves over the older versions by increasing the transfer rate of attached devices (up to 5Gbps), is fully USB 1 & 2 compatible and more aptly matches the high quality video and music transfer requirements for streaming from external devices.
This move looks to make iBUYPOWER a leader in the adoption of the new technology, effectively adding life to their products in expectation of USB 3.0′s growing adoption industry-wide.
