iControlPad Turns iPhone/iPod Touch into Handheld Game System

Not satisfied with the touch controls on your iPhone device? Well, what if you could place it in a shell and play your games like a handheld, d-pad and all?

The iControlPad is a product from a small company that aims to make the interface between iPhone and gamers a bit more natural. Sure, touch controls are great for somme titles, but face it, if you’re a fan of classic arcade titles or you run emulators on your iPhone you quickly find the touch interface is a liability.

While the iControlPad is still not available for purchase you can track the development progress and watch the eventual sage before Apple undoubtedly cries foul and sicks an army of lawyers upon them. The product requires a jailbroken device. Release date and price are still pending.

I know, but that never stopped anyone from attempting litigation to drive a small company out of the market, least of which – Apple. It’s not about legality, it’s about lawyer fees.
