Indie Dev Vlambeer Unveils Wasteland Kings, a Roguelike-Like

Ridiculous Fishing and Gun Godz developer Vlambeer is trying their hand at the roguelike genre with Wasteland Kings, a “roguelike-like” for the PC.

The title sees players taking on monsters in randomly-generated environments, with arcade-style action intensified by weapon pickups and mutant abilities.

Unlike Vlambeer’s other games, which were mainly developed behind closed doors, the studio has decided to be more transparent with the development of Wasteland Kings, streaming work-in-progress updates through its channel on Twitch.

“We always said that being open is the best way to exist as an indie developer, and we felt like taking that to the extreme. It also just sounds like a really fun experiment,” Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail said to Destructoid.

The game will be present at the PAX Prime Indie Megabooth and is expected to be available via the Steam Early Access program in a few weeks.
