Infinity Ward Has Been “Reconstructed”
Jean-Bernard Lévy is the chairman and CEO of Vivendi. This means he gets to talk at important conferences and functions, and he gets to say what the hell he wants. And here are some interesting things he said at the Morgan Stanley TMT in Barcelona, as reported by Financial Times, in regards to that whole Activision/Infinity Ward (Vivendi owns them, bruhs) kerfuffle earlier this year: “We have reconstructed Infinity Ward. We are very happy with the way we have been able to reconstruct it.”
He didn’t elaborate on that, but that they’re happy is all that matters. However, he did take a pretty good shot at IW. Read this:
The Treyarch studio, which made this year’s game, has done better than what Infinity Ward could achieve a year ago.
The implication, then, is that the loyal staff at Treyarch is better than Infinity Ward’s former non-loyal staff. Now that IW is rebuilt with a new, loyal staff, they can do work that is just as good as what Treyarch did with Black Ops. Nice.
