Infinity Ward Has Been “Reconstructed”

Jean-Bernard Lévy is the chairman and CEO of Vivendi. This means he gets to talk at important conferences and functions, and he gets to say what the hell he wants. And here are some interesting things he said at the Morgan Stanley TMT in Barcelona, as reported by Financial Times, in regards to that whole Activision/Infinity Ward (Vivendi owns them, bruhs) kerfuffle earlier this year: “We have reconstructed Infinity Ward. We are very happy with the way we have been able to reconstruct it.”

He didn’t elaborate on that, but that they’re happy is all that matters. However, he did take a pretty good shot at IW. Read this:

The Treyarch studio, which made this year’s game, has done better than what Infinity Ward could achieve a year ago.

The implication, then, is that the loyal staff at Treyarch is better than Infinity Ward’s former non-loyal staff. Now that IW is rebuilt with a new, loyal staff, they can do work that is just as good as what Treyarch did with Black Ops. Nice.

Sounds like a bunch of bull, but hey that’s me. I heard the main guys and 25 or 20 other employees left infinity ward and went to EA, that’s what I heard don’t know if that’s true or not. Plus he only thinks treyarch is better due to sales not game design, because its sad to say that I’d rather play the very buggy COD:MW2 than play the super laggy and very horrible black ops. But hey again like I’ve typed before America likes those horrible online shooters that suck.(but just not America too, that’s right UK you guys bought it also)Oh one last word about the article Infinity Ward started the franchise off very well then I think they got tired of their crap. Plus Phil if you think they did a good job with Black Ops you are a very sad gamer…and whoever else loves the game. I believe some people can agree with me that the game is horrible, no doubt about that.
Anyways Infinity Ward will never be the same. Oh I also heard crytek is going to let Free Radical build a Time Splitters game. Sounds like fun. Phil another good article just to piss me off, good job.

I made no judgment calls in this post. That last paragraph is my interpretation of Levy’s innuendo.

And that drama at Infinity Ward did happen as you say. The link on the word “kerfuffle” in the post has a quick rundown.

Well then I apologize for the remark, but still if you like the game my opinion towards you still stands. I’m just tired of the S*#T that activision is pulling with a good franchise that started in the beginning and now is bottom low crap that everyone still buys. I don’t even keep track of halo and I bet that game is doing better than call of duty. seems to me activision is pulling a Nintendo also. What I mean by that is taking a good game series and running it into the crapper and flushing it down the toilet. For example Metroid, every 2d title I have played from the series is excellent or fairly good, 3d titles have been crap, only exception was Metroid: Prime but then that went into a world of hurt with the sequels. Like I’ve typed before Phil just trying to figure out why people love this garbage I don’t know if you agree with me or not that is fine with me. I always comeback and post Phil didn’t mean to harass you just typing my opinion.
