ION Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set for Xbox 360 is $300
Yesterday, news of the limited edition ION drum set for Rock Band 2 surfaced due to an article in the August issue of Game Informer. Today, ION has opened up their website for pre-orders and if you want a drum kit that will not only allow you to play Rock Band 2 on your Xbox 360, but one that is also an electronic drum set – it is yours for the taking. Providing you can afford to spend $300 on it.
That may seem a little high, but again, it is an actual electronic drum set as well, plus I am sure there are people out there willing to pay the price for a drum peripheral that they can show off. We have all seen people pay an exhorbant amount on worse things than something like this.
From the site:
Drum Rocker delivers the most realistic drumming experience available to any gamer, regardless of platform. That’s because it was built by the engineers at Alesis, one of the largest manufacturers of professional electronic drums in the world. As a result, you get a kit that’s designed to take a real beating, with all the positioning flexibility that professional drummers demand. While other drum controllers lock you down to a pre-molded plastic array of pads, Drum Rocker’s professional aluminum drum rack lets you position your snare, tom and cymbal pads wherever you want. When you’re ready to move from playing Rock Band to playing in a rock band, you can swap the game controller module with one of the professional drum brains made by Alesis, and you’re ready to hit the road for real!
If you would like to pre-order the kit, click here.

You idiot…. It ain’t even close to being a toy. Its a REAL electronic drumset. What did you think it would cost? 80 bucks like the Video Game “TOY” drumsets?

Yeah, That one is a real electronic one… runs about the same as a low end keyboard.. you could ofcorse spend ALOT more on a E-drum set.

That still seems like a ripoff though. I recently just bought an old electric drumset for $250 and I’m sure it’s a better quality set than this.

if the could make this so it can be reconfigured to work for guitar hero world tour also then i’d pay 300 in a heartbeat. 2 games but only one drum set would be great!! it has 2 cymbals and i’m sure you can move the drum heads to make a 3 drum setup. save a ton of space in the house.

Um DOT COM I don’t where you learned that from but guitar hero world tour has a different control configuration for the drums there is a red, blue and green pad and then there are two symbols one of which is orange and the I other I belive is yello. The rock band set only has for colours and a footpetal which is orange, the guitar hero footpetal is purple. It would be kinda weird. So I don’t think the rock band perphiperals are compatible.

i read that too, but so far it says only for xbox 360 and i have ps3. hopefully that’s only because ps3 rockband 2 doesn’t come out till later in the year. this ion set has so many possibilities. i bet you coud add drumheads if you wanted for the electronic drum functionality. i’d like to be able to add a second pedal, some of the bass is tough with one pedal.

I thought this was really cool until I read that its an additional $359 for the module that makes it a real electronic drum kit.

Hey yall this is a quality pro grade set from Ion/Alesis
Its not top of the line but for a video game its fine. You think
$300 is expensive? Wake up and visit your local Guitar Center or
Sam Ash. You could pay over $350 dollars just for 1
tom tom for a top grade drum kit. People want somthing for
alittle more than nothing. You gotta pay to get some quality.
Its still cool even if the drum module (brain) doesn’t come with
the $300 drum kit. If your not a drummer or a person that wants to
pursue drumming professionally or as a hobby its not really
important to have the module. And if you want it YOU GOT TO PAY!
