To wafer: You are an ignorant fool and please, for the sake of those that are intellectual, never post on this thread again.

As for consoles vs PC. I have always been a PC gamer, but I have also owned every console that has been released in the last 8 years. Personally I will never move to console gaming because it can't offer what PC gaming can. A computer has no boundaries for creation and modding. The graphics possibilities are endless, ie. Crysis. You will start to see consoles adding more and more features to their consoles that make them that much closer to PC's and as Weclock said, eventually there will be no difference. Console gaming is an extremely restricted user PC... Console makes know this fully and are slowly releasing the limitless boundaries onto the consoles and personally I think consoles will seize to exist but there will be some type of standard that PC games are created on hardware wise.

Side note: Controllers suck for everything but sports games and racing games. FPS or RTS on consoles fail... The most recent example is Endwar, biggest disgrace to the RTS name and I feel bad for those console gamers who have never touched an RTS then went and played it... To sum it up consoles seem to give a low grade, novice form of what some types of gaming are really like and what they should look like. When somebody says Gears of War is the best looking game they have ever seen, it makes me want to cry. When they say its the best game ever, i still want to cry, but because thats opinionated I don't like to argue that point. CS for life.

PC gaming is better on quality, customization, experience, and hardcore gaming.

Console gaming is better for cost, availability, plug and play gaming, and entry level gaming.

1.)PC game pirating has decreased 28% in the last 10 years, so I'm kinda sick of the excuses the software company's place on piracy, as its shown at a steady decline since the late 80's,

2.)it makes sense that most people purchase consoles, as they are easy to understand and don't require any knowledge to operate, like a PC.

3.) First person shooter games have always been one of the most popular genre's also, because its easy to play and understand, and theres no complexity to them at all. you can just turn them on, kill things. its a point and click game. Not that I've never played them, but I'm just saying compared to other games First person shooters are not that complex. so easy to play, easy to use consoles win again since most the genre moved to XBOX or PS3

4.) America is a violent country, think about it thats why sales are up on consoles in north America, I played fall out 3, that game is excessively violent.

5.) Each area of the world has a specific area of popularity in games, in japan its RPG driven games, which is why PS3 sales are higher there. its even made fun of that theres only a dozen XBOX owners there. In America, First person shooters reign supreme because violence is popular, In Europe, Strategy game's are popular, which mostly debut on PC.

Think PC, is better suited for more complex games like Strategy games, as it requires more time to play as well as more interaction.

And let console be the easy fast action type games, that are quick to play and easier to understand, for those who are not comfortable with the use of a computer.

PC and Console are no diffrent in price it takes about a thousand to build a nice rig with a couple hundred on games with legit keys the rest being pirated games, and it doesnt take a small fortune to run todays hits video card prices are at an ALL TIME low why? because nobodys buying them anymore.

When you buy a console itll add up overtime at $60 dollars a game plus console add ons live service your looking at roughly the same price as a gaming rig only diffrence is youll HAVE to upgrade your pc is you wanna play ridiculously resource hungry games like Assasins Creed an Crysis now thats just nonsense when you play it just as well on PS3-360

I built a budget rig at $600 and im playing most games at high settings but come to find out NOBODYS Playing online I thought what a big waste until downloading games for free made up for the lack of online playability lol

Consoles are at the forefront of online/offline gaming.consoles are getting blockbuster hits nearly every month while PC will if there get a few ported to PC "lucky" and that wont be changing anytime soon the way PC is heading the future of gaming lies in consoles

PC will continue to struggle as it always has and it wont be what it was when consoles barely started to catch up in early 2000

hi forum, just to add to this.
I am a PC and console lover, both have various different types of game to offer.
However, when u compair a cross platform game, im affraid a state of the art PC wins hands down! I played call of duty4 on all 3 platforms, with the 360 worse, followed by PS3. The PC wins hands down, console version graphics are very poor, look flat, lack what a 8800gtx card can do on a PC!

Consoles are easier to crack! oh yes they are, get it chipped, download and burn a dvd and away u go. Although the wii are attempting to up its protection on DVD's including chip detectors, it has still failed to stop the pirates.
Pc games often require several types of .exe files, and serial keys are blocked online.

I think it comes down to $$$$ :-
More kids buy consoles, therefore there are more out there on the streets. It takes half the time to develope a game on a console, 1 because it is set hardware and does not require code after code for different spec machines, and 2 software houses charge well over the odds for console games compaired to that of PC.

So when it comes down to it, which system is best? PC because the dam games are made on it in the first place! doh.

What many don't take into consideration is they are basing this solely on retail sales. So PC gaming software only sold 14% of the retail software sold last year. The study does not include the games purchased by download. Take a company like STEAM. How many copies of COD4 or The Orange box were sold over STEAM and not accounted for in the article? Or take a company like Pop Cap games. Does retail sales even account for 1% of their game sales?

got to agree with erathoniel on this one. as long as there is some obsessive die hard fan of some PC game creating some new mod and playing the single player campaign or against the games multiplayer A.I in their parents house, PC gaming will never be dead.

also, why is not being able to beef up your console a bad thing?
thats one thing i love about consoles, because if you want to buy a console game you can just pick it up, pay for it, go home and just play it, but not with a PC.

I don't know why either console or PC gamers should be happy with one section of gaming dying. Isn't that something that ever gamer wishes to avoid? Doesn't every gamer want to keep options and different kinds of gaming alive and well, even if he/she doesn't necessarily follow all of them? Lets not forget that many successful video game franchises and genres were introduced on the PC first, along with many services that consoles would later copy. Mods and user-created content would virtually become non-existant (even if Epic made mod tools for the PS3, don't expect many, if any, console developers to care if their customers also have access to mod tools).

Overall, I think that you should all be happy, PC and console gamers alike, that we have two different venues of gaming available, both with their respective strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes I like hopping on a console with some hassle-free gaming, and other times I like hopping on my PC for some awesome mods like Garry's Mod or the precision controls of a mouse. Losing one of them would not only hurt the industry financially, but most important of all, creatively.
