In another stunning display of absurdity, Jack Thompson defended himself against the Florida Bar with this petition for a writ of mandamus.
For those of you who aren’t up to speed, Jack Thompson was recently recommended for a 91-day suspension from the practice of law by the Florida State Bar. Their claims are a little weird, but Thompson’s response to the suggested suspension is even weirder.
Here’s a high point from his little rant to the Florida justice system: “What this High Court should do, with all respect, if it is serious about its Bar oversight role, is set for hearing this petition for writ of mandamus and assess with its own eyes and ears just who in this spat is insane and who is out of control. It is not Thompson. It is The Florida Bar, for which this court is responsible.”
The author of this post, Andrew, thinks that this is hilarious. We’ll have to see whether or not the Florida Bar successfully carries out their pending 91 day suspension against Thompson. At least Take-Two Interactive remains untouched.
