Japan Gets 3DS, Sales Can Be Described Using Clichéd Food Metaphor

The 3DS was released in Japan over the weekend, and now it’s gone again; reports say the entire 400,000-count shipment has been sold, most which went to folks who pre-ordered the thing.

And that is that. Nintendo is planning to ship in more units in the imminent month of March, of course, and Destructoid says stores are already taking new pre-orders for whenever new shipments arrive.

I don’t know what, if anything, this means for how things are gonna go in the rest of the world. But it is a new Nintendo product (albeit one without any big first-party launch titles), so I recommend erring on the side of caution if you want one. I also suggest buying online, because you might die if you go to a store in the US for one, and I’ve often been told that death is to be avoided. The thing is out March 27 in North America.
