Jay Wilson Is Now Game Director of Unannounced Blizzard Title

After Jay Wilson stepped down as Diablo 3′s Game Director, we knew that he would be moving onto other projects within Blizzard, but we didn’t know in what capacity. Now, according to Wilson’s Twitter account, he is Game Director on an unannounced game.

Jay Wilson’s strengths, as evidence by his past successes, are in the RTS genre. Given StarCraft 2 and its expansions are being directed by Dustin Browder, with no evidence that he’s stepping down any time soon, could Wilson have been moved onto Warcraft 4?

Looking at Wilson’s credits, we that since the year 2000, up and until Diablo 3, Wilson has worked exclusively on RTS titles: StarCraft 2, Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, Homeworld 2, and Impossible Creatures.

What do you think Wilson is working on? Project Titan? Do you think Blizzard made the right move in making him Game Director on another title?

Wait a second, this guy was involved with WH40k and Homeworld 2?!? How does someone with that history screwup so badly with Diablo 3?!?

Probably because now, his head can’t fit the door anymore, unlike when he was involved in Company of Heroes and such… Ego can grow insidiously if your not careful…

I wonder if he learned his lesson with the Diablo 3 fiasco…

You can bet that I won’t preorder this Unannounced Title, because he’s at the helm and also because Blizz/Activision business practices are quite questionable…

“Do you think Blizzard made the right move in making him Game Director on another title? ”

Hell no.
The only reason he “stepped down” from being the D3 Director was because he ed up hard, and he knows it. EVERYONE knows it. A sane person would’ve sacked him, but Activision and sanity are polar opposites.
As a tool once said, “ that loser”.
