While this news hit the internet like a bomb, it’s still unclear what this means for id Software. The press release says “John will be working from the new Oculus Dallas office that we’re opening soon,” but there’s no mention of Carmack leaving id. We’ve reached out to Bethesda to clarify the situation, and will update with any news we get.
For now, you can read the full press release on the Oculus website.
