Jose Reyes to Grace MLB 2K8 Cover
The best baseball franchise around will sport a New York Mets shortstop on its cover next year, today naming starting Mets SS Jose Reyes as the cover athlete for MLB 2K8. Derek Jeter, famed shortstop of the New York Yankees, had been on the cover for the past two years.
I’ll avoid talking about Reyes’ merits, being a bitter Yankees fan, myself. He stole 78 bases – leading the league—and hit .280 last year with 119 runs scored.
Surprisingly, 2K Sports’ Chris Snyder talked about how excited he was to have Reyes on the cover, but also talked up how great MLB 2K8 will be.
“…however I will say that last year was all about upgrading our game from a visual standpoint. This year we focused on how the game plays … Let’s just say you are going to see revolutionary changes both defensively and offensively with Major League Baseball 2K8 this year that haven’t been seen before. … Literally all five tools in baseball have been innovated and/or improved upon in a big way that fans of MLB 2K7 will instantly recognize and appreciate.”
