Kalypso Announces PS 4 Version of Tropico 5

We already knew El Presidente was planning a cigar-chomping return to politics. What we didn’t know was that Tropico 5′s benevolent dictator was also coming to the PlayStation 4.

Kalypso Media announced this morning that the Tropico franchise will make its debut on a Sony console this year. Tropico 5 was previously announced as a PC, Xbox 360 construction/management sim, so it will also make its next-gen debut on the PlayStation 4.

After the pedestrian Tropico 4 and the lost-its-gameplay-soul expansion, Modern Times, developer Haemimont Studios has its work cut out. The good news is Tropico 5 will introduce co-op and competitive multiplayer, so we’ll be able to play El Jefe with a few friends.
