Kane and Lynch Gets an Early Release Date
Hallelujah! Seems the upcoming crime drama, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, has gone gold. And to top that bit of news off, Eidos has announced that the ship date has been moved up by a week to November 13th. The game was developed by IO Interactive, known for the acclaimed Hitman series, and will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Players will be able to play the game solo or with a friend in co-op. The game will also feature an innovative online multiplayer mode, called “Fragile Alliance,” that will reward players for betraying their teammates.
“We’re excited to ship Kane & Lynch: Dead Men earlier than expected and get a jump on the holiday season,” said Robert Lindsey, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Eidos Inc. “Kane & Lynch will offer something entirely fresh and unique in terms of narrative depth and character, but also as a next-generation action title.”
They don’t mention it specifically in the press release, but I suspect this move was made partly to fill the co-op gap left by Army of Two’s delay. Still, that week is certainly going to be an exciting week in gaming, with Super Mario Galaxy, Assassin’s Creed, Crysis, and more all coming out around the same few days. I’ve been personally looking forward to the game a bit more though, since I got some hands-on time with it at PAX.
