Kickstarter Consideration: Fist Of Awesome

This being the Christmas shopping season, it might not be the best time to consider donating to something that isn’t your presents fund, however, every now and then something comes along that simply must be considered. Enter Fist of Awesome, a Kickstarter-funded indie game that combines the charm of the NES-era aesthetic with the awesomeness of random, brutal violence. But in the woods.

In Fist of Awesome, you play a lumberjack whose house is burnt down, and whose family disappears. Immediately after, “his hand becomes self aware, takes control of his body, and calls itself Fist of Awesome. Soon after, bears take over the earth. Really, it’s just a crazy idea, in the best possible way. So far, the game ha surpassed its modest £5,000 fundraising goal (the designer is Scottish, BTW), but that just means more money means more game. Intended for iOS and Android, it’s the kind of game that makes the best use of the format, and will be dirt cheap when it comes out. So, you know, support it.
