Killzone: Shadowfall Intercept DLC Adds 4-Player Co-op
Guerrilla Games announced today that the next Killzone: Shadowfall DLC will add a four-player co-op mode to the PS4 shooter.
In a post on the Killzone blog, the developer announced the new DLC.
Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept places you and up to three of your friends on the elite VSA team known as Intelligence Squad Alpha. Operating behind enemy lines, your team is on a mission to intercept and relay Helghast military transmissions back to VSA headquarters.
Players will fill unique roles, including close-quarters Assault and mid-to-long range Marksman, as well as support roles like Medic and Tactician. The goal in this mode will be to hold off the Helghast long enough establish an uplink and send the trasmissions you’ve collected back to VSA headquarters. Respawning or losing uplinks will decrease your team score, and if your team score is too low, you lose.
Intercept will launch with four maps this June, and will be free to those who’ve purchased the Killzone: Shadowfall Season Pass. Guerrilla also mentioned that plan to make a stand-alone version of Intercept’s co-op available later this year, much like it did with Killzone 3′s multiplayer in 2012. There’s no word on whether or not this new mode will support split-screen, but odds are that it will be online co-op only.
You can expect this DLC to be prominently featured in Sony’s E3 2014 press conference June 9. We’ll be there to bring you all the news from the show.
