Kojima Wants Metal Gear Solid To Continue After He’s Dead

Metal Gear Solid probably isn’t going away any time soon, and if Hideo Kojima has his way, even his death — which I imagine won’t happen soon — won’t end the franchise. Here’s what he said at USC the other night:

First of all, I just want to say that as long as there are fans who want Metal Gear Solid, as a producer, I will always want to still make them and I want the series to continue. So even after I die, I still would love to have the Metal Gear Solid series continue.

Hideo Kojima is 48 years old, so reallstically he’s assuming he’ll live at least anoher 20 or 30 years, and therefore he’s expecting the MGS franchise to last that long, which seems ridiculous. But then you have to consider that Metal Gear has already existed for 24 years, and what the hell? 24 years? It’s been around as long as I have? Jesus.
