KOTOR 2 is Finally on Steam — Snag It for $10

The history of Knights of the Old Republic II is a bit of a spotty one, releasing with a number of problems. But I, for on,e enjoyed the game back when I first played it on Xbox. Since then, I haven’t approached it again, but my interest was recently piqued at the release of the giant Restored Content mod.

Unfortunately, KOTOR 2 on PC was fairly hard to come by, requiring scouring eBay for an original disc copy. Until now.

The Obsidian-created sequel to BioWare’s Star Wars epic is now on Steam. Price: $10. Hit this link to grab it.

Then hit this link to get the Restored Content mod from Mod DB.

I’ve always wondered what would’ve happened with KOTOR2 had Obsidian been given the freedom to do what needed to be done.

In it’s release state, KOTOR2 wasn’t a “bad” game, it was basically KOTOR1 in terms of combat. The story however was massively unfinished.

And when I say unfinished, I don’t mean unfinished due to incompetence. you could really see where they were going with some of the stuff, and it was brilliant. To a person that characters in KOTOR2 were far superior to the first (HK-47 in addition to retaining his sadism also adds a remarkably penetrating intellect.) As far as the myriad of bugs, well its clear the game was unfinished, but they had to release what they could.

Get it with the Restored content mod. Ponder the story….. and then realize how much the story was destroyed due to SW:TOR.
