LA Noire Was Almost The Beefiest Game Ever

The Xbox 360 version of LA Noire is on three discs. Usually it’s the East that produces games big enough to necessitate several discs, as JRPGs are normally what we think of when we’re thinking of multi-disc games, but that’s changing. Both Mass Effect 2 and Dead Space 2 came on two DVDs, and so LA Noire being on three isn’t a mega-shocker.

But what if it had come on six discs?

“It took a lot of effort to get down to three discs — I think we were on four or five or six at one point — and to get it onto one Blu-ray [for the PS3 version],” Team Bondi’s Brenden McNamara told Gamespot.

Man, just imagine the bitching that would have come of that. It would have been amazing.

People are so lazy these days. I remember a time when games came on 4-6 discs. It didn’t bother me then, and it doesn’t bother me now. Big friggin whoop. Bring on the beef, damnit. That’s what hard drive installs are for.
