League of Legends: Map Specific Champion Balance Coming Soon

A future patch of Riot’s League of Legends will begin setting a new precedent for balance changes. Champion balance will be changed on individual maps and modes. Different champions that are balanced on Summoner’s Rift become much more challenging to deal with on the Crystal Scar or Twisted Treeline maps. Riot plans to start small with Kassadin on Crystal Scar and Singed on Twisted Treeline before tweaking other champions in future patches (such as Teemo’s Mushrooms). Although Kassadin is typically played as a middle lane champion in Summoner’s Rift, he is being hit especially hard largely due to mobility concerns in the Crystal Scar. I’ve been on the receiving end of Kassadin before and it is not pretty at all. At the competitive Dominion level, Kassadin is largely auto-banned. The first of these changes are expected to take place with Patch 3.9.
Twisted Treeline
Singed
  • Armor per level decreased to 2 from 3.5
  • Insanity Potion cooldown increased to 120
Crystal Scar
Kassadin
  • Riftwalk cooldown increased to 9/8/7 seconds from 7/6/5
  • Riftwalk range decreased to 600 from 700
