Hacker Reveals LoL: Supremacy Card Game

A hacker might have revealed Riot Games Next Big Thing to the world last night.

League of Legends: Supremacy, a battle/trading card game based in the same universe as the popular MOBA title, was revealed by a hacker using the alias “Jason.” After gaining access to Riot co-founder Marc Merrill’s Twitter account, he proceeded to post images of Supremacy assets, including the game’s web portal (seen above).

Merrill eventually wrested control of his Twitter back from the hacker, saying “We’re always working on a variety of new ideas for League and beyond. Lots of experimentation that may never see the light of day.”

The Supremacy name was trademarked by Riot Games last year, but no projects tied to the name have ever been officially announced. A card game like the one shown by the hacker wouldn’t be a far stretch for Riot, as one of its biggest competitors launched a card game of its own earlier this year. Blizzard’s Hearthstone, despite its beta moniker, has already gained plenty of traction with the streaming community, and the online card game genre will undoubtedly see new challengers in the near future. It’s also possible that Supremacy is an old build with old assets, and the dev team responsible has moved onto a new project.
