Leaked Rock Band 2 Tracks Gain Validity Thanks to Game Informer

What a busy couple of weeks it has been in terms of leaked tracks for the upcoming Rock Band 2. This past Monday, Jonathan posted two lists of tracks that would supposedly be headed into our living rooms come September (if you own an Xbox 360), and then a video posted to YouTube actually showed what was supposedly the actual screen list of the titles. Thanks to the latest issue of Game Informer, a few of the tracks listed have become solidified and so far, those lists seem to be the real deal.

  • Bon Jovi – “Livin’ on a Prayer”
  • Steve Miller Band – “Rock ‘n Me”
  • Rage Against the Machine – “Testify”
  • Billy Idol – “White Wedding Pt. 1″
  • Joan Jett – “Bad Reputation”
  • Avenged Sevenfold – “Almost Easy”
  • Social Distortion – “I Was Wrong”

Here are some more details surrounding the new release that you may or may not know:

  • A Jukebox mode will allow players to listen to their songs outside of gameplay.
  • The game will feature a track selection screen reminiscent of the current Rock Band music store.
  • Lag calibration is now more user-friendly, and will include an auto-calibration mode.
  • The guitar has been redesigned, with quieter buttons and a less squishy strum bar.
  • Instruments can now be “tuned” during the band loading screen, allowing players to pound or strum away while waiting.
  • The merchandise store is still coming for both Rock Band and the sequel.
  • Rock Band 2 will include a photo mode which will allow you to pose your characters and add visual effects before uploading the shots to RockBand.com.

The PS3 and Wii versions will come later this year, and will also compatible with the previous Rock Band tracks like Chris mentioned yesterday.
