    1. Arriving in the asylum, you’ll first have to deal with Catwoman on her motorcycle in the maze. She’ll circle the area, so watch out when she drives through or you’ll take some damage.
    2. Down the steps, turn right and look for a fountain. Use your Batarang to destroy both of the clear pumps in the back corners, then construct the bouncing bricks. Use Batman and target the Pull Handle with a grappling hook. Pulling it will reveal Robin’s Acrobat Suit.
    3. Switch to Robin, and grab the Acrobat Suit. Look right to throw the Acrobat Pole into a Pole Socket, then jump to it and flip across the gap. Run straight up the path until you find a broken wall with a narrow walkway of brown Lego bricks.
    4. Use the brown bricks to carefully walk back towards your Acrobat Pole where there are some bouncing bricks to construct. Use the new Grapple Points to get Batman over the green gooey gap. Then turn the first corner and jump up to pull down the Penguin statue’s cane.
    5. Hanging from the cane will drop the top hat and leave bouncing bricks. Construct them to create a Power Suit for Batman. Equip it, and move up to find a silver Lego gate. Destroy it with a missile, climb the vines, and destroy the silver Lego statue with another missile.
    6. With Catwoman’s path blocked, she’ll crash through the gate and get knocked out. Use the new opened gate to reach even further into the maze.
    7. In the next part of the maze, through the gate Catwoman crashed through, you’ll have to deal with Two-Face’s truck. Run left past the glass Lego objects and all the way to the corner with the creepy Lego skeleton statue.
    8. Blow up the silver statue and build the blocks into an Acrobat Ball transformer. Use Robin to create the ball, where you’ll be able to move a large Bat symbol to the end of a track. Move the symbol left, then up, then left, then down, until it’s in the corner. Switch to Batman and smash the silver Lego bricks blocking your way to get the symbol all the way out.
    9. The Symbol provides Batman with a Bat Suit. With this, he can create a sonic beam that shatters glass when you hold [B / Circle]. Give it a try on the glass Lego bricks to your right. You’ll have to hold the sonic beam on the glass for a few seconds for it to shatter.
    10. When all the glass is broken, Two-Face will crash and open the gate in the center of the maze. Run on through!
    11. Last is Bane’s devious Mole Machine, a drilling tank that circle the inner ring of the maze. Take the left path until you find a rocky area with Lego rocks below. Break all the rock bricks and construct the remains to find another Power Suit for Batman.
    12. Continue down and look left to find a silver statue near pipes. Blow up the statue to create a flow of water… that you can’t do anything with. Don’t fret, you just need to the right suit to freeze the water.
    13. Get the Bat Suit for Batman again, and follow the driller to an area with a grating. On the left side of the grating are two Grapple Points. Grapple and hang off both to move a Robin symbol below glass bricks on the right of the grating.
    14. Switch to Batman and smash the glass with the Bat Suit’s sonic beam. Now, Robin can equip the Ice Suit. Return to that spurt of water south, or down, from the grates and freeze it. Just hold down [B / Circle] until the water freezes – which leads to Bane crashing his machine.
    15. That completes another level of Lego Batman 2, all the villains are back in their cages. Well, all except for the Joker.
    16. Gotham City – Courtyard Clean-Up

    17. Now that you’re back in Gotham, run over to Commissioner Gordon and interact to speak with him. The pointer will show you the way. After a short cutscene, you’ll return to the depths of the Asylum.

Well, I’m trying to track down one minikit cannister. Can you get which one? Yep, the Core Instability one. With the minikit detector on, there is an arrow pointing at the top of a tree. I’ve toppled all 3 statues, blown up all 10 searchlights, all 5 joker boxes, the cars, the billboards, and even the elusive helicopter, so I have no idea what is left, or why the arrow is pointing at a big nothing there. Any suggestions? I’ve played the level at least a dozen times now (no I’m not exaggerating), but have no idea what I am missing.

    Hey mage11an:

The big problem with most online guides for minikit cannisters is that they are -super- lazy and don’t bother showing the process to finding the minikit.

I’ve checked it out myself, and I’ll go through all the possibilities:

At the very start of the level, there’s a Two-Face jeep. Blow that up, and you’ll get one. Later one, there will be a yellow parked taxi, and another Two-Face jeep.

After those vehicles, at the bend, there’s a Lego status holding a big key. Blast that. That might be the minikit you’re looking for.

    Here’s hoping,

Yeah, I eventually found a youtube that shows someone getting all the minikits. Again, I’ve shot the billboards, the cars, the statue arm with the key, the helicopter, and all 3 different statue bases. Nothing. Just that minikit detector arrow pointing at the top of a tree.

One thing about this level that I find a little shoddy: in free-play, no matter which characters you select, you will only ever get to see batman in the bat-mobile, or robin on his motorcycle. Would it really have hurt them to give the option of rotating through the other characters and their vehicles (so long as the vehicles are armed).

    @mage11an:

If you still can’t find the last minikit, I think I’ve finally figured it out. The last minikit — the one where the arrow is pointing at trees, is from one bad guy jeep on the road. The catch? You can’t destroy the statue, you’ll need to be on the first cycle around the city for this enemy car to appear.

That’s my best guess, and it’s the last one I found — and the arrows were pointing at trees. Give it a try, it might be my last idea.

    Goodluck!

Nope. Tried that. I think the location on top of the tree is a generic hiding spot of some kind, that doesn’t go with any particular trophy. Just for the ones that aren’t about blowing up specific targets, or where the minikits hide until you collect them… Anyway, I still don’t know what I need to do to collect this one. A made three trips round each lap, shooting to the right and shooting to the left. That’s 18 trips around the city. No idea what I could possibly be missing.

Well, maybe that was it after all.
Seems strange to put the arrow pointing at the tree instead of, oh, say… The truck you’re supposed to shoot. Still, compared to some of the games, that is only mildly annoying. (lego Indiana Jones 2 was full of awful nonsense that made me just give up)

To get the minikit near the tree: destroy fist two ace car at start, then do not shoot fist statue wait and the second two face car will appear, destroy it. That how I got it.
