MineCon 2011 Keynote Address Recap – Awkward, Endearing

Hey, so the MineCon keynote just happened. It’s over now, but we haven’t forgotten it. How could we? Lydia is too ridiculous for us to not remember every word that came out of her mouth. Here are some of the highlights:

Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is playable at the event. Stay tuned for Game Front’s hands-on impressions.

There will be another keynote later at 4PM-5PM PST with the Mojang team, all about Scrolls and Cobalt. Stay tuned for a recap of that good stuff.

The official Xbox 360 Minecraft Launch Trailer debuted during the keynote. Watch it over here.

Mega64 came onstage to intro the official Minecraft 1.0 trailer they produced, which contained a pretty funny parody of Notch himself. Watch it over here.

Notch made an appearance, to express his (awkward, endearing) gratitude to his fans, and to–most importantly–pull the “Activate Minecraft” lever and launch the game!

They also made us watch some terrible music video called Revenge. I assume you’ve already seen it since it has 16 million hits on YouTube. Still, it’s terrible.

I strongly disagree with you, that music video is fantastic. If you don’t have anything nice to say then shut your mouth. He worked really hard on that, it took slot more work than this sloppy article did.

I personally really liked that keynote. And Revenge is great, fully disagree with you!
