LittleBigPlanet Beta Already Underway

During a live Q&A with fans today, Media Molecule co-founder and technical director David Smith revealed that a LittleBigPlanet beta has already begun, and it will be expanding to include more people.

“A beta trial is really important for us to make a game like this,” Smith explained. “We already have trials in progress! It should gradually grow to include more people.”

Unsatisfied with that answer, a follow-up question further pressed Smith for more details on the beta. He continued, “The beta is starting off in a very controlled way, but will hopefully open up to lots more people. We aren’t at a stage yet to know what direction we need to go with this. Personally, I’d love the beta to have as many people as possible, but we need to wait and see.”

I really hope they open it up to the masses soon. I’ve been dying to play the game since it was first announced, and it was the reason I bought a PS3 in the first place. Here’s hoping we needn’t wait much longer.

Smith also confirmed that the game will include support for Trophies, and will run at 30 frames per second at 720p.

    Nice sarcasm there…

Nice to see this game is still beating Fable 2 in the hype dept.

I want it to open up to the public, but please, people, please, actually think of this as an actual beta, not a beta demo.
