Lock and Load: Crytek’s Warface Now Live

Show me your war face.

Ha! That’s it? Are you sure that’s not your constipated face?

While you work on that, let’s move on to the news: Crytek’s CryEngine 3 powered free-to-play shooter, the promising but unfortunately named Warface, is now live.

To get in, you’ll first have to register for Warface which includes signing up for Crytek’s new free gaming social hub, the equally silly sounding GFACE, which also launches today.

So go through GFACE to get to Warface, and then hopefully you’ll be wearing your I’mEnjoyingThisShooterFace. Check the launch trailer below:

Payday 2 opened my eyes to the possibilities of co-op shooters, so I’m genuinely looking forward to jumping into Warface today to sample its co-op offerings. Crytek says it will regularly offer new story-based co-op PvE missions and content, so there should be plenty to keep players busy, though it remains to be seen how the FTP business model will work. We’ll keep you posted.

That was my war face. Awful, wasn’t it? I’ll work on it.

I still don’t get why this game wasn’t named WarCry………….. Every other game they’ve made has “Cry” in it.
