Lords of the Fallen is a German Dark Souls
There’s a little known game by the name of Lords of the Fallen, which is being touted as a European, or at least German, Dark Souls. Currently in development at City Interactive and Deck 13, the game is being headlined by The Witcher and The Witcher 2 producer Tomasz Gop. Once known as Project RPG, the game has been in the works for over two years.
Attendees at E3 had the privy of seeing a small portion of the game, in which the game’s main character, Harkyn, made his first appearance.
“Harkyn is not your ordinary hero. Our team is committed to creating a distinct character and a gameplay experience unique to every player, as well as a deep, secretive history that players will be rewarded for upon discovering.” said Gop.
Players will be able to alternate between the role of warrior, rogue, and cleric. Choosing one at the start, and switching to any of the others later on after wearing class-specific armor. Each class has access to special moves and abilities.
Like Dark Souls, players are not penalized for dying, and are instead expected to learn from their mistakes. ”Death is how you learn in the game, you are not punished for it,” said Gop.
Lords of the Fallen is slated for a 2014 release on the Windows PC and next-gen platforms.
