Lost Planet 3 Release Date Delayed to June

Capcom has announced the delay of Lost Planet 3. Originally slated for an “early 2013″ release date, the game has since been pushed back to June 26 in North America, followed by a June 28 release in Europe.

In addition to the game’s newly announced release date, Capcom has released a new trailer for Lost Planet 3 which introduces the game’s Snow Pirates and a gigantic monster called the Carrier.

Although the original Lost Planet games were developed in-house at Capcom’s Japanese studio, the company has since enlisted the services of Spark Unlimited to work on the game. Spark is best known for the critically pilloried Legendary, a game which received a metacritic rating of 50/100 across all platforms. The studio also developed Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, which fared equally poorly.

The latest entry to the series is being designed to project a more ‘cinematic’ and story-driven experience over its predecessors’ focus on exploration.

The game will be out on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 when it hits the shelves. If you’re a fan of the series, just be sure to hold your anticipation in check.
