Mad Catz Announced R.A.T. Tournament Edition Gaming Mouse

Mad Catz has announced its new gaming mouse: the R.A.T.TE (Tournament Edition), which is expected to ship in early 2014.

The R.A.T. Tournament Edition was designed to appeal to eSports pros, with an 8200 DPI laser sensor, improved speed and resolution, reduced weight, programmable button mapping, and customizable attributes such as lift-off height calibration and dynamic surface detection.

In December, Mad Catz launched its M.O.J.O. Android console, a more expensive competitor to the OUYA.

Mad Catz launched the R.A.T. line of gaming mice four years ago and has a history in the professional gaming scene, having made a licensing and sponsorship agreement with Major League Gaming back in 2010. The obvious implication here is that if the R.A.T. is good enough for pro gamers, then it’s good enough for the rest of us.
