Make a Tombstone and It Could Appear in Silent Hill 8
Put on your creativity helmets: making a cool, Silent Hill-themed sculpture could get you featured in the Silent Hill: Downpour. Well, not you, but your art. In a cemetary.
Konami is running a promotional contest through Facebook encouraging fans to submit creepy concept art sculptures for the tombstones that will appear in an in-game cemetery in Silent Hill. The three fan-submitted concepts will eventually get modeled in the game.
Here’s the catch: the headstones need to be creepy without being obvious, so no callbacks to old Silent Hill tropes are allowed. That means Konami doesn’t want a Pyramid Head tombstone or references to past characters like Harry Mason — they have to be original. I expect aliens fall into this category as well, so be warned.
The plan is for Konami to pick its six favorite models and open them up to a public vote. The top three vote-getters will win the contest.
You can submit an entry using an image file through the Silent Hill Facebook page. Entries need to be submitted by Feb. 10. Public voting portion runs from the 10th to the 16th.
