Making the Xeno Scary Again — CA Talks Alien: Isolation

We’ve been pulse rifle-ing xenomorphs in sub-par games for so long, Aliens aren’t even scary any more.

Creative Assembly wants to change that.

In the latest developer diary for Alien: Isolation, seen above, the team describes how they’ve set about making the iconic sci-fi creature terrifying once again.

It’s definitely worth a watch if you’re an Alien fan, and a couple bits stand out. The Alien in Isolation is completely unscripted with its own well-developed senses. That means there will be no set patterns for players to figure out and exploit. The result, CA says, is that players will be terrified knowing they can stumble into the Alien around any corner.

Fingers crossed Alien: Isolation delivers.
