Mark of the Ninja Special Edition Dated for Steam

Klei Entertainment has finally dated its previously announced Special Edition DLC for Mark of the Ninja (we reviewed it here). It’s out on both Steam and Xbox Live Arcade on August 16.

The DLC sees the addition of an all new level, set in a flashback to the early life of the tattoo artist, Dosan, setting the stage for the events that transpire in the game proper.

It will also introduce a new style of play, which includes a non-lethal takedown ability and provide a hybrid of lethal and non-lethal approaches to the game.

Also added are two new items, one which is geared towards stealth and concealment and one that favors a more direct course of action. Both items and the new non-lethal play style will be available as a part of the main game and the new level.

Finally, the developers will be adding developer commentary to the main game. All the original levels will feature a number of commentary nodes that discuss various aspects of the game’s creation, anecdotes, at least two history lessons and other behind the scenes info from nearly everyone on the team, localized into several different languages.
